FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do we use a ropes wall?
The wall ropes are an important tool in Alignment-based yoga because we can work with great precision to traction the body, correct postural imbalances and negative movement patterns and strengthen the whole body around improved alignment. Working on the ropes is also fun!
Can any yoga class improve my scoliosis, herniation or back pain?
If a teacher does not have a backcare certification, they will not know how to work with your problem and may cause more harm. This is also true of Physical Therapists who lack specific training with scoliosis. Also, in a regular class setting, without the use of our specialized equipment, you will continue to move in your habitual movement patterns which will increase your scoliosis, misalignment, disc and vertebral degeneration.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move, but is not so baggy that it hides your body. Yoga-style clothing is perfect.
Can I take class if I’m pregnant?
Healthy Back Healthy Body Private Sessions are safe during pregnancy, helping to keep your body strong and flexible. Because of the modifications required to safely work with the pregnant body, private sessions or prenatal classes are the best venues for prenatal clients. We do not recommend that clients who are more than 12 weeks pregnant participate in other group classes. We suggest that pregnant clients review exercise plans with their medical providers. After your delivery, join our Backcare and Posture Essentials or Wall Ropes classes to help keep your body in balance, relaxed and strong as you care for your little one!
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
For all private services and sessions, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please call the studio or contact us through the website. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.
Due to our small class sizes, sessions missed during a small group class series are non-refundable but can be made up during another class time if space allows.
Do we take insurance?
We are not a medical facility and do not accept insurance, but some Health Savings Accounts have paid for our services.
Please arrive early.
Healthy Back Healthy Body Private Sessions are 60 minutes in length. Group classes are 60-75 minutes. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your session, so we can begin and end punctually.
